Birdwatching trail in Cerro de San Pedro
Welcome to the wonderful world of birds!
This trail takes us to Colmenar Viejo, at the foot of the Cerro de San Pedro hillside, the perfect habitat for Mediterranean woodland birds, including birds of prey and passerines.
Golden eagles, Spanish imperial eagles and cinereous vultures are three of the big species we will get to see during our birding experience. But we will also have the pleasure of seeing great spotted cuckoos, common cuckoos, woodchat shrikes, red-legged partridges, ortolan buntings, little owls and more.
We will follow an easy 4km trail with birding stops along the way to discuss some fun facts, characteristics and differences between the various species.
A morning in the countryside learning about this fascinating world.
