Observación de aves rapaces

Bird of prey watching trail in Madrid

Welcome to the wonderful world of birds!

There are fun facts, characteristics, flight peculiarities and hundreds of things we can tell you about each species.

You will find us in Moralzarzal, in the most lowland part of the Sierra de Guadarrama mountain area.

Away from the hustle and bustle and public places, the most elusive birds of prey and the hardest to catch sight of come to the area to visit us, making it the perfect place to watch three of the area’s crown jewels: Golden eagles, Spanish imperial eagles and cinereous vultures are three of the species we get the pleasure of seeing during the experience, but we will not forget to look out for any other big birds soaring or perching nearby. Northern goshawks, sparrowhawks, common buzzards, short-toed snake eagles… And it is an added treat to see smaller birds, which may be more difficult to spot due to their size but always make a beautiful sight.

We will follow our trail and make observation stops along the way to discuss the fun facts, characteristics and differences between the various birds. A wonderful morning spent learning about such an intriguing world.
