Odonata photography workshop

Odonata (dragonflies and damselflies) are without doubt some of the most fascinating insects for photographers, along with butterflies, because of the way they fly and their beautiful shapes and colourings.

These insects are elusive and fluttery, but getting to know their behaviour, understanding how to get closer and being patient will generally reward us with wonderful shots of these fantastic creatures.

This Odonata photography workshop will take us to an area where they coexist with other species, where we will attempt to snap portraits of their habits by applying some approach tricks and photography techniques that can help capture the full beauty of these insects. We will also learn how to use artificial lighting to enhance the results. The workshop will be eminently practical, which means we will be learning the techniques and tricks hands-on by putting them into practice with the subjects we come across during the session. We will also be working in a small group to ensure each participant receives individualised attention and gets to make the very most of this activity.

To organise this workshop we have partnered with FotoRuano, who will kindly lend us photography gear for our customers to use and enjoy. For logistical reasons, this service (free of charge) will be available only when bookings are made sufficiently in advance so we can arrange to have the gear sent to us in the right conditions.
