Mycology photography workshop

Autumn brings the first of the rainfall and with it there emerge all kinds of species of fungi in a varied and eye-catching range of colours and shapes.
Fungi tend to be small, so the best way to snap a good shot is using macro photography techniques.

This branch of photography consists in getting close-ups of very small subjects, showing them bigger than they really are and revealing all the details that escape the naked eye.

During this mycology photography workshop, we will be learning the basics of this discipline in a completely practical way.
After travelling to the chosen location and exploring the area, we will spread out to photography different species of fungi we come across.

With each specimen we find, we will discover different techniques and tricks to bring out the best in our subjects.

We will also be working in a small group to ensure each participant receives individualised attention and gets to make the very most of this activity.

To organise this workshop we have partnered with FotoRuano, who will kindly lend us photography gear for our customers to use and enjoy.
For logistical reasons, this service (free of charge) will be available only when bookings are made sufficiently in advance so we can arrange to have the gear sent to us in the right conditions.
